Our store was first opened in the spring of 1994 by Trish who had previously met and worked for Mike Calder in 1991 at the Diving Locker store in Chiswick.

The image above is Andy finding the bell of the SS Maiden in the red sea. The wreck is located at rocky island on a ledge starting at a depth of 90 meters (stern) and descending to a mere 137 meters at the bow !

We have a small team of qualified staff lead by Andy, Trish and Evans

Trish came from a commercial diving back ground and quickly established the essex Mikes Essex Dive Store as one of the best dive shops in the south. She has remained working at the store some 15 years, only leaving for a short period to start a family.

Today she's widely recognised as one of the best diving service engineers in the business. Many of our original divers from the early nineties still send their equipment to her to be serviced. Depite the fact that they have moved miles away!

As you can imagine her extensive experience gained over the last 22 years in the sport is a real asset to us.

Evans has returned to us after a break from the industry although not from diving and is working alongside Trish and Andy to make Waterfront Scuba the best in the East!!
Andy has been at the store since the end of 2003 after joining us from our St Albans Store. He loves every aspect of the sport but his passion is deep wreck diving. He has been in the industry since 2000 and a diver some 19 years. His diving has taken him to some of the best wreck dives around the world. He's is a BSAC, PADI and TDI instructor to CCR mixed gas level and was one of the first divers to fully embrace the buddy inspiration rebreather when launched in 1997. So much so that he hasn't dived on open circuit now for over 10 years. His happy to share his extensive Knowledge of diving be it scuba equipment, the wrecks in the english channel or technical diver training.

If your interested in CCR, be it buying, servicing or learning to use them your guaranteed an enthusiastic response from Andy. Oh did we mention he likes a cuppa Tea and a Yum Yum !
